That’s what I’ve been doing since I started.

I didn’t start my career as a consultant.

I started as an accountant in a security company. Having helped to build it up, I moved to become Financial Controller of The Point, now The O2. Eighteen months later, I was a Director of the company. Not long afterwards, I joined the UK board, working as part of the senior management team to identify growth opportunities and cost saving initiatives.

During this time, I was one of the youngest people ever appointed to a state board, serving as a non executive Director of An Post for five years.

Moving to Galway, I became Finance Director of Transitions Optical in 1999, dealing with everything from pricing to compliance. Two years later, I became Supply Chain Director for Europe. In that role, I halved inventory levels with no impact on service to customers. And, when a lightning strike at the Paris-based distribution centre threatened product supply, I managed to keep every customer supplied.

In 2006, I decided to put my experience and expertise at the disposal of start-up and established businesses in the West. That’s when I established Fox Consulting to support start-up, technology and SME companies. I’ve also worked on projects for locally based multinationals on cost reducing projects. I’ve helped a huge variety of companies with funding, efficiencies, cost-cutting and positioning for growth/recovery. Bottom line: the companies I’ve advised have secured almost €4 million in funding. Clients continue to be more efficient, employ people, export goods.
